Our new baby girl

With both my other kids I was right about their sex from the get go.  I always just know what I am expecting.  This time my heart says it will be a little girl.  We went for a scan at 13 weeks, and although it was still a little early to tell, the lady also thinks it is a little girl.  Guess we will confirm it at our next scan, when ever we go.

I must say I am really exited about having another princess.  Tutus and crowns just makes me smile.  We bought the cutest pink outfits and I can't wait to see her in it.

So before I even knew I was pregnant, Cara-Mia told every one she is having a baby sister called Callisa.  I absolutely love the name.  Don't think daddy is too impressed that Cara-Mia thought of it but oh well.  It is my turn to name the baby since he chose Ciane.

But I don't want her to be just Callisa, so her name will be Carmin-Callisa.  Something a bit different. Like both my other kids ....

Carmin

Callisa:

I love names with strong meanings.  All my children's names have strong meanings.

Can't wait to meet my new baby girl.

The birth of Ciane Jacob (Rewrite)

The birth of Ciane Jacob 29 November 2012 Our unplanned unassisted birth I got married in 2011 and after attending two prenatal classes with my husband we both knew we wanted a homebirth. We found a midwife who was willing to assist us at home. Hired a birth pool. Got all the necessities.... Now this birth has a big back story ... My amazing mom, my rock, my hero's birthday is on 30 November. And since she turned 60 that year we planned a huge party with all her friends, and family and this party would take place on the morning of the 29th as it was the date that suited most people. Morning of 28 November. I some serious discharge going on down there, but we don't panic because we have a scheduled appointment at the midwife later that morning. She obviously also noticed the discharge and said it could be one of two things. Either I have a serious infection and need antibiotics or I am in labour. We said 100% no internal exams, that stuff freaks me out, it...

The birth of Carmin Callisa (rewrite)

Carmin Callisa 19 December 2013 Unplanned planned assisted birth at home The first time I wrote this story wasn't very good. I think I was a little too negative to an overall positive birthing experience. Both my other births went smooth and quick in their own way. And I was about to experience something totally different than what I expected. Ciane (baby nr 2) was 4 months old, exclusively breastfed, when we found out I was pregnant. I have to share this we were away for the weekend with my parents and my oldest daughter, then 3 told my mother she is going to have a baby sister named Callisa. We all laughed and joked until I started getting sick on the Monday .. like morning sickness sick. So I had a three year old and a basically newborn, needless to say my pregnancy was a little more stressed and busy as apposed to the 9 months I basically spent in bed with the others. We decided we are going to have an unassisted home birth. We know the drill. Until w...

The birth of my babies

I have two amazing birth stories to share.   Both natural and unmedicated.   My stories make me proud, not only to be a mother but to be a woman.   It was Valentine’s Day 2010; I was 39 weeks pregnant with my first. I spend the whole day hoping this won't be a silly cliché love baby (I was single at the time).   So baby waited until 2am on the 15th. I woke up thinking I wet the bed, but as I got up and the water kept flowing, I knew it was time.   I grabbed my bags, woke my mother, and off we went.   We got to the birth centre about 02:30; the midwife checked me and decided I needed to get into the birth pool immediately.   Then the contractions started.   At first they weren't that bad, and I joked about them.   But they grew more intense, none the less I handled the pain very good.   By 5am I was so tired and just wanted to sleep.   I got into bed and immediately fell asleep.   By 7am I woke up in allot of pain, ...
